“A family that works together remains together and as a result builds a community”.

Indeed, the Ruwi Parish Food Fiesta held on Thursday 7th February 2013 was a grand success as we touched the figures that were never achieved before since Year 1990.

On behalf of Goan Committee of Oman, our President and the entire working committee expresses our gratitude to one and all for your generous contribution, effort, time, dedication and above all the enthusiasm that supports all GCO events.

It is something great that we have achieved and all this was made possible firstly with the endless support of our very dear President, Mr. Anthony Goes and with the input of all our committee members and their families not forgetting our very close well wisher Mrs. Leila de Souza & Mr. Lyn de Souza who really went out of their way in helping us to prepare the Sorpotel , Chicken Xacuti & Pork Feijoade. It was a complete combination of efforts from all our members that led us in achieving this grand success. I need not mention other names who prepared the other dishes, snacks and sweets. The GCO applauds all for the long hours spent in the kitchen and for bearing the heat and fumes so as to prepare the mouth watering Goan delicacies.

We, the Goan Community of Oman are the church and this goes to all who have contributed in cash, food items and various sponsorships to build the church structure. Each one of us involved in the Parish Food Feista have to receive compliments for whatever contribution we have given to make this event a success.  As the saying goes "United we stand divided we fall", all our members came together with a single goal in mind, to help in generating funds for the Church and this unity helped us to achieve a good amount for the Food Feista.

Appreciation goes to Mr. Savio Carvalho for putting up a well equipped colourful stall that attracted so many and as a result brought in a big sale to our stall. All present felt so much of enthusiasm and team work among the volunteers.  During those few hours we even received new registrations.

We also congratulate Ms. Gayle and our Youth for their enormous zeal and for putting up an excellent show on stage that symbolized our Goan culture. We also compliment Mrs. Jean who planned out a very interesting skit on the Seven Sacraments with all the participants performing to their potentials.

Our silent contribution is rewarded. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS OUR FAMILIES AND EACH ONE OF US.
